Psalm 91- Strong Faith

Psalm 91 is one of my favorite Psalm in the Bible.  Meditation on this Psalm can bring peace in knowing that you are safe in the Master's hand.  He will hide you from pestilence.  He will cover and shield you from the hands of the enemy.  That alone brings comfort in the mist of a storm.

If you can honestly say that there is not storm in your life, then you are truly blessed.  There are some Christians that are dealing with sickness and disease, among other life-changing situations.  They are bound by the spirit of infirmity.  Some have even come to accept this dis-ease.  Coronavirus, Covid-19 can surely be classified as a disease.  Many have become ill and lost their lives.  The good news is that so many people have recovered from this worldwide game-changer.  There is no instance where sickness and disease should be accepted because it is not the portion of the Christian.  Jesus died on the cross so that we might be free from sickness in our bodies.

Verse 7 tells us that, "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee".  That is so powerful.  We know that there will be sickness and disease in the land, but it will not come near me.

If you are wondering where all of this confidence and assurance is coming from, then take a look at verse 14.  Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.  The Lord loves us.  He has set his love upon us.  Because of this fact, he will deliver us.  He did not say that he might deliver us.  He made a promise.  He said that He would deliver us.  In order to receive this blessing, you must know the name above every name, Jesus.

When we call upon the Lord, he will answer us.  When we dwell in the secret place of the most High, we can abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  He will be our protection.  We have to trust that He will do exactly what he said that He would do, regardless of what the situation around us looks like.  We were born to use our emotions.  Our emotions and feelings are triggered when we watch the facts on the news, rely on past experiences, or even opinions of others.  Who will you believe?  Will you believe what it looks like?   Will you accept the bad news of the doctor into your heart or will you believe the good report of the Lord?   The report of the Lord said that you are healed.  Mediate on scripture.   God is not a man that should lie.  He cannot lie.  He keeps his promises. When we make the Lord our habitation, he will keep every promise that He made to us.

Decree and declare good health and healing daily.  Do not sit idle and accept anything that the enemy sends your way.  Verse 3 tells us, " Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence".  Strong faith says that He will deliver me.  I don't know how he will do it, but I know that He will do it.  I know that He is able and I know that He loves me.  Have faith in God.  He will keep his promises.

Psalm 91 King James Version (KJV)

91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Be blessed.
