Love That Lasts

I pray all is well!  Our Devotional is called Love That Lasts.

 Our Scripture Focus is:

“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” – 1 Corinthians 13:2 (NIV)

We often measure success by how much we know, how bold our faith is, or how much we sacrifice for others. Yet, the Word of God makes one thing clear: without love, none of it counts. You can possess deep spiritual insight, speak with power, and give generously—even to the point of great personal cost—but if love isn’t the motive, it’s all empty.

Love is not self-seeking, boastful, or short-tempered. True love reflects the heart of the Father: it forgives, it trusts, it endures, and it celebrates the truth. Love doesn’t manipulate or seek applause. It quietly serves, lifts others up, and continues even when it’s not returned. This is the kind of love God demonstrated toward us—and it’s the kind of love He calls us to walk in.

Your acts of kindness should not be rooted in pride or a desire for recognition. When you give, give with a pure heart. When you serve, serve to glorify God, not yourself. True love is selfless and sacrificial. It forgives freely and seeks to bless others, even when it’s not convenient.

Reflection:

Have I been loving others the way God loves me? Are my motives pure, or have I been seeking attention or validation through my good deeds?

Prayer:

Father, I thank You for Your perfect love. Help me to love others not out of obligation or for recognition, but with the same unselfish love You’ve shown me. Teach me to forgive, to serve, and to give with a pure heart. Use me as Your vessel to reflect Your love in all I do. Let the past no longer hold me back. I surrender my heart to You today. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
