This is our Memorial Day Devotional: "Greater Love Has No One Than This"


Scripture Reading:

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

—John 15:13 (KJV)


Reflection:

On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedom. Their sacrifice echoes the ultimate act of love—laying down one’s life for others. In their courage, we see a reflection of Christ’s love for humanity.


These heroes stood in the gap, protecting not only our nation but also our way of life. Their selfless acts remind us that freedom comes at a great cost. As we remember them, may we also remember our spiritual freedom, bought with the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross.


Let today be more than a holiday—let it be a holy remembrance. Reflect on the sacrifices made and ask yourself: How can I live in a way that honors such great love?


Declaration:

I honor the memory of those who gave their lives for my freedom. I will not take my liberty—both physical and spiritual—for granted. I choose to live purposefully, love selflessly, and serve faithfully.


Prayer:

Father, today we thank You for the lives of every man and woman who gave their lives in service to this country. Comfort the families who still feel the ache of loss. May their sacrifice never be forgotten. Help us to live in a way that reflects Your love and honors their legacy. In Jesus’ name, amen.


Challenge:

Spend a moment in silence today. Pray for our nation. Reach out to a veteran or the family of a fallen soldier to offer thanks or comfort. Let your gratitude move you to action.
