Let Your Guard Down

Does it seem like we are letting our guard down? There is so much gossip and confusion in the body of Christ these days. We hear about so much carnality in places that should be sacred. We find ministers dating church members, churches being run as businesses, and the list goes on and on. It seems to me that we are letting our guard down. We are allowing Satan to slip right into the church. We are allowing and looking over things that we should be rebuking.

Is the church still the house of God? Or is it a building that people gather to socialize? Would Jesus be welcome in your church? Would he be pleased with the goings on there? Truth be told, Jesus should be comfortable and welcomed in His house. It is not our house. It is God's house. Jesus should be the reason for the gathering. Any other reason is not serving the purpose.

Jesus is the reason. Jesus is the purpose. Jesus is the business. It is not about the amount of money that we can make. It is not about the popularity of anybody there. It is not even about the amount of members that are added to the roster. What really matters is the number of souls that are won for the kingdom. The number of souls that profess the name above every name - Jesus, is the purpose.

Strong faith is needed to maintain Christianity. It takes strong faith to live a holy and acceptable life unto Christ. Any other name will not allow you to be saved. It is only at the name of Jesus that every knee shall bow. It is not a one time thing. To be a friend of the world is to be an enemy of the Lord.

It is impossible to live a Godly life while living a worldly life. There is not an in-between. You must be either hot or cold. Lukewarm is unacceptable. The world's knowledge is the totally opposite of Godly knowledge. Yes, the world hates you because they hate your Father. If the world loves you, then you are worldly. If you know the Lord, then you know that He is with you. He will fight your battles for you. He will not leave you. I would rather have the love of the Lord over worldly enemies any day.

Acts 20

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. I John 14: 1-3

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for keeping us for another year. Thank you for sparing us. You have spared us for a reason. You gave us another chance to live for you and you alone. Thank you Lord. Lord I pray for each and every person that needs you now. I pray that you will forgive us for being worldly. Forgive us for putting others and other things before you. Remove anything that is not like you. Purge us. Cleanse us. Wash us clean. Fill us with your spirit. Give us the discernment to resist the devil. Lord you said resist the devil and he will flee from us. Heal, deliver and set free on today. Make us whole. Thank you Lord. In Jesus Mighty Name we pray, Amen.
