Think Good Thoughts

Think good thoughts in order to get good results.  Negative thoughts can lead to depression.  If we spend all day thinking negative thoughts about a situation, it will only lead to hopelessness and despair.  Negative thinking is the total opposite of faith.  Think less about the situation and more about the blessings that is on the way.  Dwelling on the situation will only make things worse.

Philippians 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Sunday Rest

Sunday has rolled around one more time.  I am blessed to be able to get a few things done on Saturday.  I have to give Sunday to the Lord.  Jesus rested on Sunday, so I should be no different.  I have been blessed to be able to devote my Sundays to the Lord and my family for many years now.

Some people watch sermons on television.  I don't knock this at all.  There was a time many years ago that we could only get a hand full of programs devoted to the Lord.  Now, oh my, we can be picky and choosy.  We can worship all day, everyday if we wish.  I still say that there is nothing like going into the house of the Lord.  I am hoping that when I am unable to walk in, somebody will be nice enough to roll me in.

We don't always appreciate our blessing until we or someone we know looses something.  Be thankful and rejoice today while you have breath and strength in your body.  Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

1 Chronicles 16:10 Glory ye in his holy name:  let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

Unconditional Love

Did you know that loving others is a command from God?  No, it is not an option.  It is a command.  It can be hard to love someone that has mistreated you.  It can be done.  Ask to receive the Holy Spirit, then thank God for him.  Next ask the Holy Spirit to help you love others unconditionally.  Jesus is love.  If Jesus lives in you, then you already have the capacity to love beyond measure.  Stop focusing on your feelings and start to focus on serving the Lord.  You will be amazed at what you can do.

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."  John 13:34-35
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands.  As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.  2 John 1:6

How to Get Your Blessing Immediately

As a child I grew up with a fig tree in my life.  I looked forward to eating the figs straight from the tree.  This may be one reason that this scripture caught my eye as a child.  I know how it felt to go to the tree to find none or even find green figs, which were not ripe to eat.  Very disappointing.  So when I read that Jesus had an experience that I could relate to as a child, it kind of stuck with me.  I kept reading the bible trying to find other things that I could relate to as a child.  It was amazing to me.  I read the scripture often, not know that it was building my faith at a young age.

I always get so excited when I read this passage.  It begins by saying, "Early in the morning.  Okay don't wait around and procrastinate about things.  Start early.  He was hungry.  That tells me that he wanted something.  He had a need.  Everybody has been hungry at some point.  He put his sights on something that he wanted but it did not provide what he needed.  He needed his hunger filled.  The fig tree had only leaves...no figs.  Jesus said, "May you never bear fruit again!"  So, if it could not or would not fulfill its purpose, then it was useless.  This is so exciting to me because this passage tells me that you can speak to your problem.  You shall have whatever you say if you believe what you say in faith.  Do you want a peaceful life?  Speak to it.  Do you want happiness?  Speak it.  Do you want a happy marriage?  Speak to it.  The key is to believe.  How deep does you faith go?  If you think it, then say it.  If you believe in your heart and profess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, then you shall have whatever you ask.  That is a blessing given to you for being saved.  Do you want good health?  Then say it.  Don't just say it in unbelief or doubt.  Say it with power and believe it.  You are in control.  Don't worry about talking out loud.  Start worrying if you answer yourself back.  Say what you believe until you see results.  Now look at verse 19.  Immediately the tree withered.  It didn't happen months or years later.  Why?  Because there was no doubt.  Faith is all that was needed.  There was no doubt to stop the command.  He didn't say wither if...

Say it and believe that you receive it and it will come to pass.  Your blessing is coming.  Immediately.  Just wait for the manifestation.  Don't doubt that it is done just because you don't see results immediately.  It's already done.  Just believe it and it will start to become visible.  How strong is your faith?

Matthew 21:18-22 Jesus Curses a Fig Tree

18 Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.
20 When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.
21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Positive Change Begins with a Thought

Have you ever taken the time to think about your thoughts?  What type of thoughts are popping up in your head?  Are they good thoughts, or are they negative thoughts?  You can learn a lot about yourself just by paying attention to your thoughts.

Philippians 4:8 says Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things).  If we spend our day thinking only good thoughts and capturing the bad, would that improve our lives?  I would definitely say so.  The old saying goes you are what you eat.  I would dare to say that you are what you think.  How does your attitude affect the outcome of certain situations?  A positive attitude can usually change the atmosphere in a good way.  Of course, a negative attitude has the opposite effect.

Think on good things.  Find a positive side to every situation.  Try looking on the bright side of things.  It could always be worse.  It is amazing to me when I allow negative thoughts to creep into my mind.  The Lord is quick to show me somebody with a situation that is probably worse than mine.  Bad for me may be easy for you and vise versa.  The positive things is that you can use your negative, as well as positive life experiences to help someone else to get through a tough time.

A negative thought life can leave you with a hard and dim future.  That is not a good place to be.  The question is...is the glass half empty or is it half full.  If you chose the half full answer, then you are thinking positive and being optimistic .  If you were being pessimistic and chose half empty, then you were looking at the negative side.

You can not rise higher than your thought life can take you.  Do not limit yourself by always finding the negatives in a situation.  You may think that you are just being cautious.  There is so much more to the picture than that. Turn things around by looking for a better perspective.  Everybody has a perspective on a situation.  It may not always be good, but it is the way we see things through our personal lenses.  Turn your situation around by thinking positive thoughts.  Pretty soon, those positive thoughts will turn into positive words.  Next thing you know you will begin to see your way out of a bad situation.  Things start to look better.  Positive thinking equals positive results.
