Does God hear our prayers? Will our prayers get answered? I didn't start to really see results until I decided to learn how to pray. Prayers actually need to be in order. There is a method or protocol to powerful prayers.
Matthew 6:9-13New King James Version (NKJV) 9 In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.[a]
Always approach the throne of God with thanksgiving. Most kids are experts at getting what they want from their parents because they understand the importance of showing thanksgiving and giving praise. It works for them.
The same is true for praying to your Father in Heaven. I then ask for forgiveness for sinning against him. I like to stay clean so to speak, so I wash often. I then state my prayer request. Next, I quote the scripture that says that I can have what I ask for. Lastly, I thank Him for being such a good God and answering my prayer.
Keep in mind that the bible says that you shall have whatever you ask. (As long as it lines up with God's Plan) As you spend more time with Jesus, you will begin to think like him. You will know what to ask for when you pray. Prayer is the key that unlocks the door.

Good morning! In light of all of the things that we go through in our lives, we can get to a low point in our lives. I say to you that God said you shall live and not die. You will get through it Have a blessed day.
People often mistake happiness for joy. Unfortunately, they are not the same. You do not necessarily have to be happy to have joy. Happiness is based on your emotions. Joy, on the other hand, has to do with a condition of the heart. A joyful person can be happy. I have a question. Can a sad person have joy? Because happiness and sadness are emotions, they can change several times. Joy is a little different.
Joy is a fruit of the spirit. Joy is knowing that God is in control. Regardless of the things that are going on around us, we know the facts. We don't have to think about it. We know that all things will work out in our favor. This fact allows us to have joy in our hearts.
Joy is our heart allows us to be happy in troubling times. Happiness is a byproduct of joy. When we have joy in our hearts, we appear to be happy. We don't feel the pressure of the world on our shoulders because we can turn it over to God and move on to something else. We can do this because of the trust that we have in God. We know that God can handle any situation, small or large, and know that it will work out for our good. That is why we can say all is well. Our faith in God will make every situation work in our favor.
Do you wish you could go back do some things over in your life? That is called regret. It is so easy to get stuck in the time shuttle of the past. You can always remember back when...and think if only I had...
This is a total waste of time. Time waits for nobody. Live your live to the fullest now while you have a chance. Use your time wisely. Take time to plan your future. The past is just that...in the past. There is absolutely nothing that you can do to change it. It is over and done with. Memories may be good or bad, but they are just memories.
Plan to make new memories. There are hundreds of ways to make happy memories. All things happen for a reason. Don't get discouraged when things don't work out the way you planned it. You are only human. God is in control. If things work out a certain way, then it is for your good some way, some how in the end. God will get the glory.
Look forward to the future with an expected end. A positive end is always good. Sometimes we get so busy complaining about the past. We miss an opportunity to be happy. Happy is the total opposite of worry and despair. Reminiscing about the good old days will do nothing for the now.
Live your live for now. Live life to the fullest. You cannot change other people. Their actions may cause pain and disappointment, but we have to forgive and move on to the next moment and enjoy it. Holding onto things will only drag you down.
Be encouraged. You can and will survive. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Keep pushing through all of the sorrow, pain, and despair. Let the negative things that happen in life serve as a learning experience. That is all. A learning experience. Costly at times - yet a life lesson.
Use your experiences to help someone else get through their problem. You don't go through things for your own benefit. You go through them in order to share insight and encouragement to someone else. You never know who you might not be encouraging to hold on to their dreams.
Have no regrets for the past. Turn the negatives into the positives. Change your thinking to change your future. Be strong and of good courage. You cannot be failed, nor forsaken.
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Did you know that you deal with many of the health issues that you have as a result of the foods that you eat? You have heard the say, you are what you eat. Well, there is some truth to this saying.
Inflammation is a sign that is present in several different illnesses. It is best to keep inflammation down by taking care of yourself. Eating right is the first step that you can take without a prescription. Healthy foods, such as fruit and vegetables, foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids (like salmon), whole grains, proteins like beans, and foods rich with probiotics (yogurt) can decrease the chances of becoming inflamed.
Inflammation has been linked to Alzheimer's, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Heart Attack, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. That is just to name a few. I believe that changing my eating habits would be worth a try to keep inflammation down.
We are nothing without our health. Wealth is always good, but what good is wealth if you are lacking in health. I strive for both.
Isaiah 58:8 Then shall thy light spring break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward.
Does it seem like something is always happening to get you
down? Well, that is called life. It happens to us all.
Whatever you do, don't let it get you down. Never, ever give up
hope. All things happen for a reason. Good or bad. I am not
about to tell you to pretend that everything is alright. We all have to
What I am saying is to keep pushing for better. Know that in the end all
will work out for your best. So be in good cheer. Count it all joy.
Things may not look good, but in the end the outcome will be a blessing.
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing
that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience
have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking
nothing. James 1:2-4 (NKJV)
I have learned so much about children since I first began to teach many years ago. With all of the new laws and testing, some students fall between the cracks. All students are entitled to a free and appropriate education. According to the law, children are protected under state law. Students with special needs receive services using the Individualized Education Program.
Federal law called the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) governs special education. The best part about the services is that they are free. There is no cost to the parent. Instruction, support, and environment are specially designed to meet the needs of students.
There are thirteen categories that are covered under Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). They are as follows: Autism, Deaf or Blindness, Developmental Delays, Emotional Disturbance, Hearing Impairments, Mental Retardation (Intellectual Disabilities), Multiple Disabilities, Orthopedic Impairments, Other Health Impairments, Specific Learning Disabilities, Speech and Language Impairments, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Visual Impairments. Gifted and Talented is actually covered under IDEA, which is federal, but may not be included in some states.
The Individual Education Program outlines a course of action that will be taken to provide services in the least restrictive environment. Special needs can range from learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, physical disabilities, communication disabilities, or developmental disabilities. An individual plan allows each child to receive a customized plan for an education, as well as transitions beyond high school.
The two most common types of setting in which services are received are inclusion and mainstream. Inclusion services are received in a regular classroom with non-disabled peers. In this situation, the general curriculum is modified. Accommodations are also used to allow students to benefit from the same curriculum.
Mainstreaming is used when students with special needs are educated in a special education classroom. Their interaction with regular education students are limited to specific time periods based on their skill level.
Every child deserves a free education regardless of the disability. The Individuals with Disabilities Act make it possible for this to happen. Thousands of children have disabilities. Each child can learn with a specialized plan.
Psalm 127:3-5 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Speak wealth and abundance into existence. Yes, I did say speak wealth and abundance into existence. You have a right to say it because you can have whatever you say. As a Christian, you are the righteousness of God. Go ahead and make a positive affirmation: Wealth and riches are in my house. Keep saying it until you see it.
Psalm 112:3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
There are so many things to worry about. Will have have a job tomorrow? Will my child straighten up and fly right? Will I be able to pay my bills on time? Will I loose everything that I have worked for? Will my spouse divorce me? The list goes on and on and on. Capture your thoughts before they really take effect on your daily living. Change those thoughts into positive affirmations. For instance, I will pay my bills on time. I will have a job tomorrow. My child will straighten up. I won't loose everything that I have worked for. My spouse will not divorce me. How can you make these statements when the world is crumbling down? Well...as a Christian you have authority. "But my God shall supply all your need, according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
There are times in life when we get so caught up in the needs, likes and dislikes of others that we neglect ourselves. It is easy to forget who we really are. As a parent and wife/husband, we devote so much time catering to others' needs. This is not a bad thing. If we love our family, then the little things become acts of love instead of labor. These little acts of love can weigh heavily on our minds, bodies, and souls if we are not careful.
Stress kills. We should never get to the point of exhaustion and extreme fatigue. We have to pay attention to our bodies. These are little signs that are warning us to slow down. I have received many little warnings. Heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and so many other health issues can be traced back to stress and dehydration. When I was younger, I never understood the important of keeping the body hydrated. Now I know that the body is made up of a high percentage of water and it is needed to function properly.
Rest is not a dirty word. It is okay to kick back and relax. It gives the brain, as well as the body a chance to rest. I have learned the hard way to pay attention to the body. If you miss the sign, your body will be more than happy to remind you. It will slow you down with illness and pain. I would rather slow myself down. The same is said for mental health.
Mental health is just as important as physical health. Take care of yourself. Partake in some alone or me time just to clear the mind. You will be able to think better with a well rested mind. Get rid of the stress and worry. They are not good for the soul. It will not make any situation better.
Matthew 6:27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
We often find ourselves doing something for others, whether it is at a job, or taking care of loved ones. If you are anything like me, you spend the majority of your time serving others in some capacity or another. We don't always get rewarded as we would like. You may spend lots of time working on demanding projects for work, only to be passed over for the promotion. You may even go out of your way to do nice things for others, but never get a thank you.
Don't be discouraged. You will reap your reward. When you look to man for your recognition and rewards, you will be greatly disappointed. Look to God for your reward. You will always be glad to lend a helping hand because you will know that your reward is on the way.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Healthy living is not just a crazy notion. Healthy living is essential if you are going to enjoy life. As I get older, I realize that I have to be careful about the things that I put in my body. I also realize that I cannot eat all of the junk foods that I used to eat in past years.
Time is very precious to me these days. I don't plan on wasting one second. I believe that this is important because I plan to accomplish all of my life goals, as well as become a healthy senior one day. I would love to travel the world, spend time with family, and accomplish all things that God has in store for me.
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Think good thoughts in order to get good results. Negative thoughts can lead to depression. If we spend all day thinking negative thoughts about a situation, it will only lead to hopelessness and despair. Negative thinking is the total opposite of faith. Think less about the situation and more about the blessings that is on the way. Dwelling on the situation will only make things worse.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Sunday has rolled around one more time. I am blessed to be able to get a few things done on Saturday. I have to give Sunday to the Lord. Jesus rested on Sunday, so I should be no different. I have been blessed to be able to devote my Sundays to the Lord and my family for many years now.
Some people watch sermons on television. I don't knock this at all. There was a time many years ago that we could only get a hand full of programs devoted to the Lord. Now, oh my, we can be picky and choosy. We can worship all day, everyday if we wish. I still say that there is nothing like going into the house of the Lord. I am hoping that when I am unable to walk in, somebody will be nice enough to roll me in.
We don't always appreciate our blessing until we or someone we know looses something. Be thankful and rejoice today while you have breath and strength in your body. Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
1 Chronicles 16:10 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
Did you know that loving others is a command from God? No, it is not an option. It is a command. It can be hard to love someone that has mistreated you. It can be done. Ask to receive the Holy Spirit, then thank God for him. Next ask the Holy Spirit to help you love others unconditionally. Jesus is love. If Jesus lives in you, then you already have the capacity to love beyond measure. Stop focusing on your feelings and start to focus on serving the Lord. You will be amazed at what you can do. "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. 2 John 1:6
As a child I grew up with a fig tree in my life. I looked forward to eating the figs straight from the tree. This may be one reason that this scripture caught my eye as a child. I know how it felt to go to the tree to find none or even find green figs, which were not ripe to eat. Very disappointing. So when I read that Jesus had an experience that I could relate to as a child, it kind of stuck with me. I kept reading the bible trying to find other things that I could relate to as a child. It was amazing to me. I read the scripture often, not know that it was building my faith at a young age.
I always get so excited when I read this passage. It begins by saying, "Early in the morning. Okay don't wait around and procrastinate about things. Start early. He was hungry. That tells me that he wanted something. He had a need. Everybody has been hungry at some point. He put his sights on something that he wanted but it did not provide what he needed. He needed his hunger filled. The fig tree had only leaves...no figs. Jesus said, "May you never bear fruit again!" So, if it could not or would not fulfill its purpose, then it was useless. This is so exciting to me because this passage tells me that you can speak to your problem. You shall have whatever you say if you believe what you say in faith. Do you want a peaceful life? Speak to it. Do you want happiness? Speak it. Do you want a happy marriage? Speak to it. The key is to believe. How deep does you faith go? If you think it, then say it. If you believe in your heart and profess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, then you shall have whatever you ask. That is a blessing given to you for being saved. Do you want good health? Then say it. Don't just say it in unbelief or doubt. Say it with power and believe it. You are in control. Don't worry about talking out loud. Start worrying if you answer yourself back. Say what you believe until you see results. Now look at verse 19. Immediately the tree withered. It didn't happen months or years later. Why? Because there was no doubt. Faith is all that was needed. There was no doubt to stop the command. He didn't say wither if...
Say it and believe that you receive it and it will come to pass. Your blessing is coming. Immediately. Just wait for the manifestation. Don't doubt that it is done just because you don't see results immediately. It's already done. Just believe it and it will start to become visible. How strong is your faith?
Matthew 21:18-22 Jesus Curses a Fig Tree
18 Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry.19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.
20 When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.
21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Have you ever taken the time to think about your thoughts? What type of thoughts are popping up in your head? Are they good thoughts, or are they negative thoughts? You can learn a lot about yourself just by paying attention to your thoughts.
Philippians 4:8 says Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things). If we spend our day thinking only good thoughts and capturing the bad, would that improve our lives? I would definitely say so. The old saying goes you are what you eat. I would dare to say that you are what you think. How does your attitude affect the outcome of certain situations? A positive attitude can usually change the atmosphere in a good way. Of course, a negative attitude has the opposite effect.
Think on good things. Find a positive side to every situation. Try looking on the bright side of things. It could always be worse. It is amazing to me when I allow negative thoughts to creep into my mind. The Lord is quick to show me somebody with a situation that is probably worse than mine. Bad for me may be easy for you and vise versa. The positive things is that you can use your negative, as well as positive life experiences to help someone else to get through a tough time.
A negative thought life can leave you with a hard and dim future. That is not a good place to be. The question is...is the glass half empty or is it half full. If you chose the half full answer, then you are thinking positive and being optimistic . If you were being pessimistic and chose half empty, then you were looking at the negative side.
You can not rise higher than your thought life can take you. Do not limit yourself by always finding the negatives in a situation. You may think that you are just being cautious. There is so much more to the picture than that. Turn things around by looking for a better perspective. Everybody has a perspective on a situation. It may not always be good, but it is the way we see things through our personal lenses. Turn your situation around by thinking positive thoughts. Pretty soon, those positive thoughts will turn into positive words. Next thing you know you will begin to see your way out of a bad situation. Things start to look better. Positive thinking equals positive results.
How important is it to set goals? If you are that person that plans everything, from the time you are to get up, the time you go to bed, as well as everything in between, do you ever accomplish all of those tasks? Of course there are some people that live life as it comes. No plans, no vision as to how things should go. Things just fall into place. No stress, no worries.
Some people like me have to have a well-thought out plan in order to get things done. I plan, plan, and plan some more. I monitor progress, then review progress to be sure that I am on the right track to get things done. To some, I may not look very organized. I work on many tasks at one time. Most of the time I can complete tasks with ease because of my plans. So, the question is...is it important to set goals?
If we set goals, then we have an idea of where we will go from one point in life to the other. It is an excellent idea to take a look at the progress that is made over the years. One of my pet peeves is to make no progress. I need to see some type of movement. I am guilty of planning the future of my kids to a certain extent. I look at the goal that they have set, then inform them of their progress. I have grown to learn that others do not want to hear you tell them that they are sitting still in life. Unless they ask. In reality, they may be comfortable with where they are. Not that this is a bad thing, but why stay stuck in the same old place year after year with no progress...total waste of time. That's just me. Maybe I am an over-achiever. I am always pushing for more. Bad? I don't think so.
I believe it has to do with what is instilled on the inside of me. It is that little small voice inside that keeps saying keep going. I can do better than that. Push on. I have to reach my goal.
The worst thing in the world to me is failure. Failure to you may be okay. Some people learn to live with it. I cannot say the same. To me failure means defeat. I will not be defeated and I am not ashamed to say it. The wheels are usually turning in my head. I believe it has a lot to do with the amount of time that I spend in prayer for direction. The last thing that I want to do is spend years and years going in the wrong direction. If you have ever gotten lost by making a wrong turn? Well you may drive thirty minutes in the wrong direction. Once you realize that it is the wrong direction, you turn around then head back in the direction that you came. Well you have just wasted an hour in order to get back to where you started from. Why spend so much of your time doing what you want rather than what you need to do in order to reach your goal, which should line up with your purpose in life.
Time is so precious. We can spend year after year trying to do something that wasn't even meant for us to do. That goes for careers, education, and relationships.
So, I would say that it is important to set goals. Setting goals will give a sense of direction. But, prayer is also needed for guidance and focus. When the two are put together, then it is a winner in the making.
How many times do we hold on to things that happened in the past? Some of us get angry about things and stop speaking to others for years. What purpose does this serve? You are not hurting the other person. You are hurting yourself.
Let the past go. Holding onto negative situations from the past only hinders you from living a life of peace and joy. Living with unforgiveness is actually harder to do than to forgive. Those negative thoughts hinder you from moving to a better place. The bible said do no remember the former things. When you give your life to God, you have the privilege to have the Lord fight your battles. You don't have to hold on to anything negative. Don't let other people hinder you from receiving your promises from God. You will be judged in the manner that you judge. Once again, let it go and just live. Give thanks to God for working your situation out for you and live with love and forgiveness in your heart. Trust God. He is bigger than any of your problems.
As a Christian, you are a new creation. He said that he will do a new thing. The hard part is changing your thinking. Focus on positive things. Spend time with God and ask for guidance. Your burdens will be lifted if you just ask.
Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters, “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.
