Evaluating Priorities

Do you consider yourself independent?  Are you needy?  Do you have to have someone in your life at all times to be happy?  Happiness is very much necessary in our lives. The question is...What makes us happy?  Is it a love interest?  A job?  Our family?  Money?  Or even attention?  Notice I didn't say God.  There may be a need to evaluate priorities.

Our Lord and Savior is sometimes the last thing that some people think they need.  He is a last resort or merely a solution to a problem.   If this is you, then it is possible that you have a heart condition.   I am not referring to the ticking organ in our bodies.  I am referring to a condition of love and priorities.

In the not so distant past, we had the basics of everyday life to worry about.  I know many have said that covid was and still is a hoax.  Hoax or not, millions of people died and others suffered from illnesses. It was only by the grace of God if you managed to escape this horrific virus unharmedcin some way.  It didn't stop there.  It attacked the mental wellbeing worldwide.  It attacked the social life.  It attacked the ability to maintain a stable income for some.  It shook the world.  It made us realize that we had deficits.  We were not prepared.

Many depended on the government to provide, but they were not ready either.  Everything that we thought was in place in time of tragedy was not.  It was every man for himself, left with the emotional baggage that came with worry.
The bible has said many times that we are not to worry.  Trust God.  God to some could only be found in a church, but the doors were closed.  If you relied on the physical building, then the sobering reality of feeling alone and unprepared set in.

We must know that the Lord dwells I us.  He is a spirit.  The physical location is not as important as the your body which is your temple.  This is where the Holy Spirit dwells.  We must invite Him in and allow Him to live and dwell there.

A misconception is that we must clean ourselves up before he comes in.  The truth is, we need him to come in to lead and guide us in the way that we should go.  We need Him to complete that process.

Back to our question.   What is true happiness.   Money is not true happiness.  There are plenty people with riches who are miserable.  They don't know God.  There are others with families, but a miserable because they think they would be happier somewhere else with another person.

Money and things can never take the place of God.  They are a poor imitation of true happiness.  True happiness comes with peace.  We must give thanks to God for what we do have.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever. Psalm 136.1

Emergency Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you.  You are an awesome God and you are all knowing and all powerful.   You can do anything but fail.  Lord we need you to step into this situation.  Heal, deliver, and set free in Jesus Name.  We bind every hindering spirit and plead the blood of Jesus against it.  We loose breakthrough in Jesus Name.  We declare victory on today.  In Jesus Name we pray, Amen
